The busiest season is coming up so I wanted to write a short blog that will hopefully help you be prepared. Especially in Utah because we have the most gorgeous mountains and colors when the leaves change. Whether it’s finding your photographer, the location or even outfits- planning a family photo session can get real stressful. So hopefully this helps!

While I do offer outdoor session, indoor sessions definitely have my heart. When it comes to kids, this is a game changer. No more dirt around the knees or scuffed up knees, working in a studio takes care of all of that. These are just a few reasons why I prefer indoor sessions.

This little lady is small but with the BIGGEST personality. She’s sweet, opinionated and shy all rolled into one. One of the changes I’ve made to my sessions is giving my clients wardrobe options and I decided to start with the little ladies! I found the cutest outfits from Zara and was so excited to have Harlow model in this Zara toddler session.

I loved learning about my camera and the best way to use it to get beautiful images. Not to mention we are incredibly blessed when it comes to locations here in Utah. Even in the winter, the mountains make for a beautiful backdrop. That being said, as time has passed I started offering indoor family sessions and fell in love!

Even though I have been a photographer for 5+ years, even I clam up and struggle getting comfortable in front of the camera. I do sessions with my kids every year and still, dread it. So I totally get it! The great thing about our session, is that it’s not timed. This allows us to take our time while everyone gets warmed up. That being said, most kids last about 45 minutes. We’ll take plenty of breaks but we definitely don’t want to push them too much by making the session last hours.

Having a consistent home and a place for my boys to call their own, has always been a dream of mine and I was so proud to make it ours. I realized that I had all these photos from our sessions that we did every year but, we never looked at them. I’d post them on Facebook and Instagram and wouldn’t see them again until I’d get my memory reminder from social media. That’s when I decided to start offer products to my clients. Now that it’s included, I take the stress of ordering prints off your hands!

It’s almost that time of year. Blossoms at the capitol! Nothing singles the end of winter, like trees blossoming. The Utah Capitol is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot it and also one of the stressful haha! I think it’s the fact that we’re all just so over winter, we can’t wait to see beautiful colors and that wonderful sunlight. I’ve known Kyra for a few years through her Instagram account Utahwithkids but we’ve never actually met in person. I was so excited when we decided to photograph her family so we could finally meet! She has 3 boys so we have being a boy mom in common and she just had a little girl who is the cutest thing ever! I hope you enjoy this indoor family session in Draper studio.

One of my favorite parts about being a photographer, are having repeat clients. I’ve been photographing these two brothers for a few years now and I feel so honored to have them back each time. In the past, Nico (the younger one), has been TERRIFIED of me. So, I was fully prepared for the same reaction this year during their sibling Santa photos.

Can we talk about how gorgeous this mama is? We met through social media and I was so excited when we started planning her mommy daughter session in my Draper studio. Being a mom, I feel it’s so important to have photos that you love with your kids.
