When she reached out this year, she knew she wanted fall photos and suggested Emigration Canyon since they live so close to it. I did my family photos there and loved it so I was stoked to go back. I was worried we wouldn’t have enough fall colors but they turned out beautiful!

I feel like these child portraits are so beautiful and SIMPLE. There’s no background to distract you from them and their adorable personalities. As my business changed, I knew I wanted to keep it simple and nothing say simple like a colored backdrop.

Lately I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing some mentoring for newborn sessions. I have been super lucky and have worked with the cutest little babies. But because I don’t do newborn sessions often enough, I feel like I need to spend more time learning to wrap properly and be efficient with my sessions. It’s funny how difficult swaddling can be with little wiggly worms like a 3-4 week old baby.

Something I love about Great Saltair for photos is how much variety you can get in just one hour. You can get photos in front of the main building, out on the sand where it’s got the blank canvas look and even some greenery. I feel like I don’t do sessions enough here but, I feel this way about every location in Utah. It’s just never enough!

Mom and me session are one of my absolute favorite sessions to do. When Sarah booked her session, we talked about her being in a few photos and I’m so glad she did! Not only is she a gorgeous mama but look at all that love she’s getting. These are moments I dream of catching and hope mom treasures forever.

Jessica signed up for fall minis last year and I was so excited to see her family again this year! This time of year is so nutty, Donut falls parking lot was backed and there were families everywhere! As busy as it is, I still love holding family session there. Seeing the leaves change and seeing the gorgeous color just never gets old.

While timing the fall color can get tricky, the colors are always gorgeous.
