Every fall, Jordan Pines becomes a zoo and it’s easy to see why. Regardless of the season, it’s a gorgeous place to go to for photos.

When she reached out this year, she knew she wanted fall photos and suggested Emigration Canyon since they live so close to it. I did my family photos there and loved it so I was stoked to go back. I was worried we wouldn’t have enough fall colors but they turned out beautiful!

Jessica signed up for fall minis last year and I was so excited to see her family again this year! This time of year is so nutty, Donut falls parking lot was backed and there were families everywhere! As busy as it is, I still love holding family session there. Seeing the leaves change and seeing the gorgeous color just never gets old.

While timing the fall color can get tricky, the colors are always gorgeous.

It’s almost that time of year. Blossoms at the capitol! Nothing singles the end of winter, like trees blossoming. The Utah Capitol is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot it and also one of the stressful haha! I think it’s the fact that we’re all just so over winter, we can’t wait to see beautiful colors and that wonderful sunlight. I’ve known Kyra for a few years through her Instagram account Utahwithkids but we’ve never actually met in person. I was so excited when we decided to photograph her family so we could finally meet! She has 3 boys so we have being a boy mom in common and she just had a little girl who is the cutest thing ever! I hope you enjoy this indoor family session in Draper studio.

Anytime a family member, a friend or anyone I know asks me to take their photos- it seems to hit differently.

It feels like the biggest compliment that they believe and trust in me enough to capture a special moment. I think it also has to do with the fact that they’ve seen my growth as a photographer over the years. Especially Jen. When I first got started in photography, her son Max was actually one of the first little kiddo I photographed! If you go back far enough, I bet you can find the session somewhere.
