Big Cottonwood Canyon Family Session

Jessica signed up for fall minis last year and I was so excited to see her family again this year! While timing the fall color can get tricky, the colors are always gorgeous. It was so fun to do their Big Cottonwood Canyon Family Session two years in a row. Their boys looked so different!

This time of year is so nutty, Donut falls parking lot was backed and there were families everywhere! As busy as it is, I still love holding family session there. Seeing the leaves change and seeing the gorgeous color just never gets old.

The best thing about having a repeat client book a session, is saying how much the kids have changed! Seeing their little baby from last year looking like a little man and with the cutest personality! The cutest part was seeing him copy his older brothers. Whatever his older brothers did, he had to copy. I didn’t even have to tell him to put his hands in his pockets because he saw his brothers do it so he got right on it!

When it comes to outfits, keep it simple

I get asked pretty often about outfit ideas. In the past, I have fallen into that bad habit of feeling like I HAVE to buyer all new outfits and decided to change that this year. This last year, I’ve been advising my clients to work with what they have in their closet and go from there. Most of the time, we all have the basics of what we need and just need a couple things. One person may need a top or a pair of jeans but we can usually pull from what we have. Don’t these boys look adorable? I feel like Jessica did such an amazing job in coordinating everyones outfits!

Getting individuals of the kids is always a priority but I always do my best to get photos of mom and dad too! We focus so much on getting photos of our kids, we often forget we (the parents) are just as important. So don’t be surprised when I let the kids play for a bit, to get some photos of just you. I love getting photos of the parents and will always encourage it even if it’s just a few photos.
