Utah State Capitol Cherry Blossoms session
It’s almost that time of year. Blossoms at the capitol! Nothing singles the end of winter, like trees blossoming. The Utah Capitol is one of my favorite outdoor locations to shoot it and also one of the stressful haha! I think it’s the fact that we’re all just so over winter, we can’t wait to see beautiful colors and that wonderful sunlight. I know it looks like spring but you’ll still want to dress warm for your Utah State Capitol Cherry Blossoms session!
I know you want to dress to fit the spring vibe but still try to dress warm. April can still be super cold and windy so I recommend bundling up or using layers to stay warm.
If you’re looking to book a session here, the first thing you’ll want to do I contact your photographer ASAP. Because these don’t stay around for long, it’s best to plan ahead. For me, my schedule fills up a few months in advance so I already have limited availability. Add in the small timeframe for blossoms, it doesn’t leave much wiggle room.
They usually bloom in April, so keep your calendar open!
While it does change every year, the trees will blossom usually in the first 2 weeks of April. I typically try to leave at least one weeknight and weekend evening available in case I have clients wanting to book there. You also want to be as flexible as you can with the date. I start tracking the blossoms end of March so I can keep my clients in the loop.
There is no fee to do a session there!
There is no fee but you do want to account for parking. It gets filled up pretty quickly so you wan to make sure you allow yourself enough time to find parking and walk to meet up for your session. Click here for directions on getting to the capitol.
