Family Session at Little Sahara Sand Dunes
I’ve known Natalie for a few years now and was so honored when she asked me to do her Family Session at Little Sahara Sand Dunes. It had been a while since I’d done a session there so I jumped at the opportunity. It was a great way to get my feet wet with a family I already knew.
Where is Little Sahara?
Little Sahara is located about 115 miles from Salt Lake City via Nephi. Depending on where you are, if you’re in Salt Lake, you want to plan for an 90 minutes to 2 hours. I do not recommend going an alternate route. I did that once and got extremely nauseous so stick to the Nephi route.
Is there a fee to do a session there?
There is, I believe it’s $10 per car so I always advise my clients bringing cash since we usually have to meet there.
What should I know when booking a session there?
If you’re coming from Salt Lake, plan for a very long drive. It’s essentially a mini road trip! So you’ll want to plan as if it is, bring snacks, entertainment for the kids and i’d plan a change of clothes. An outfit for the drive there, their photo outfits and pj’s to change in to on the way home.
It gets very very windy. Definitely do your hair and make up but just know it may go everywhere because of the wind. Plan your outfits accordingly, if you want to wear a dress, definitely wear something longer to avoid a Marilyn Monroe moment. Plan snacks, water and potentially a mean for the drive home in case anyone gets hungry on the way home.
