When it comes to kids, I want to make sessions as comfortable as possible. Because weather here can be so unpredictable, I wanted to offer portrait sessions in studio. There’s just something about child portrait session in Utah Studio that takes away the stress.
My goal during. the session is to make sure I get great individual photos of each child. Whatever that looks like! For small babies, you may need to hold them or help them sit. With older kids I like do sitting and and standing photos to make sure you have a good variety.
Why do I like working with kids? I love capturing their little personalities and hopefully I can freeze time. In a way that will bring back memories when you see the photos for years to come.
They grow so dang fast! For those that come to me every year, we get to capture their changes and really see them grow and see how much they change. It’s obviously bittersweet but so great to have.
I typically keep props to a minimum and like to keep things simple by using the floor the most but I do use some chairs for groups shots or even individuals.
For these we wanted sister to have something a little different so we had her sit in the chair.
Like everything else, change is the one thing that’s constant. Just as I’ve finally mastered the studio look, my time in my Draper studio has come to an end.
When it comes to photography, it’s a journey that never stops evolving. I’m excited to see where this new challenge takes me and I’m so excited to bring you along!
