Draper, Utah Studio Family Pictures

When I first started doing photography, I was all about natural light and was terrified of using lighting. I loved learning about my camera and the best way to use it to get beautiful images. Not to mention we are incredibly blessed when it comes to locations here in Utah. Even in the winter, the mountains make for a beautiful backdrop. That being said, as time has passed I started offering indoor family sessions and fell in love!

But with outdoor sessions, comes a lot of variables that can’t be controlled.

Outdoor sessions are amazing. The backdrops are beautiful, not to mention the dreamy sunsets and sunrise light. Here in Utah we are blessed with gorgeous mountains, the stunning Salt Flats, beautiful Sand Dunes and that’s just to name a few. But you also get rainy days, cold winds and run the risk of kids running around getting hurt. I still plan on doing outdoor session but for now, studio sessions definitely have my heart

As my life has changed, so has my vision for my photography business.

Life has an interesting way of keeping you on your toes. When I first started, I loved weddings. I loved the details, the couples, beautiful venues and the parties! Now being a single mom, it’s hard to schedule my life around a wedding and the long hours they require. I’ve shifted to helping other photographers when they need it but have stopped taking weddings of my own. As a single mom of 2, I don’t have the luxury of being available every weekend. Plus, being a second photographer is much more fun!
